My Apps

This website documents my journey in learning how to create Android Apps and deepen my understanding of programming in general and Java in particular. I'll share what I've learned as I go and I hope this will help others in their journey.

My long-term goal is to learn enough so that I can develop just about anything I can imagine. Until then, what I can develop now is restricted to what I've learned to do so far. I know I have a long road to follow, but it's been an enjoyable ride so far.

Why write games as a learning method? Because programming a game can take me anywhere I want to go. A business app performs a restricted function whereas a game can include just about any functionality I care to learn and use. I'm sure I'll get to coding basic business apps later, but for now my goal is to have fun learning and following wherever my interest takes me.

Be sure to check out the bottom of this page for descriptions of some Java programs I've written.

I've created these Android apps so far:
  • Ants vs Ants Demo - Something I created for learning how to program in the Android environment.
  • Dots vs Dots Demo - Something I created for learning how to program in the Android environment.
  • ¡Ay Caramba! - Demo version and Full versions moved to production on June 10, 2014.
  • Gemini Falcon - (formerly Major Bob/Bonnie Bee) - published on November 16, 2014.
  • Gemini Falcon: Asteroid Miner - a variation on the Gemini Falcon app - published January, 2015.
  • Gemini Falcon: All Boxed In - different game mechanics, but using the same artwork.
  • Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spook - The classic game as shown on the Big Bang Theory
